North Canada's Labrador region was home to three fishermen who headed out to sea. This was a standard route that the fishermen took, so they knew this area intimately. The fishermen knew how to navigate icebergs, but something really strange happened this time, on what was another usual day, when they approached them. Initially, they had no idea what they were looking at, but as they got closer, they saw that there was a large animal on top of the iceberg. As soon as they learned what kind of animal it was, the friends knew they had to act immediately.
Fishing For A Living
Cliff Russell, Mallory Harrigan, and Allan Russell set up their own fishing business in Labrador, Canada, after they bought a boat. The three friends shared a passion for fishing, which made them great friends.
When these events unfolded, it was extremely cold, and the icebergs were still in the frigid waters. In spite of the inclement weather, Mallory, Allan, and Cliff ventured out to the water. They loved that. Since they had a good knowledge of the sea the conditions didn't make them nervous, they were excited to get in the water and start fishing, and the weather didn't scare them either.
Setting up a boating business
They knew every aspect of the sea, since they loved it so much. There were fish, crabs, and other creatures in that sea that it occurred to them that they could turn this shared passion into a business. And honestly why not? Perhaps they could make money from these things that they are so good at and enjoy so much.
Nobody was surprised when they announced they were going to purchase a boat and start a business together. However, they also didn't know them-selves what to expect. They hoped their passion and knowledge would be enough to help their business succeed.
Sea Passion
The fisherman knew when to fish best. Sea knowledge was second nature to them. Since they knew that was the best time to fish, they would start their days just before sunrise. They were always the first to rise. The fishermen were primarily looking for crabs, but sometimes they would catch other local fish that they could sell to restaurants in the area. The area is full of several species.
For the friends, money was not really an issue since they loved what they did so much. Despite not having a large company, they did much better than they expected.
Business Success
Although they had a small client list, the business grew into quite a successful venture for the friends. This wasn't a “fishy'' business. Therefore, the friends continue to deliver fresh local fish. The fish they were catching was of high quality. They continued to work hard and were driven.
Within no time, the small company's client list kept growing each day. This industry actually surprised them with how easy it was for them to enter and grow it. Definitely made them proud. They wondered why hadn't they thought of this sooner? They could have been making money the whole time!
Teamwork makes the dream work
Their passion for the sea fueled the bonds these friends had. They were always there for each other to help with anything they needed. Although they spent most of the time together on the job, they almost never had any conflict. On the opposite, the friendship became stronger.
They shared such a strong friendship and were so dedicated to their work, which probably contributed to the high quality of their work. They spent so much time together on such a small boat that no one seemed to mind. Their work ethic was strong, and they communicated well. Everything went smoothly because of that.
Time Spent In The Waters
Their workdays lasted for hours, and they started before sunrise. The more fish they caught, the more money they were able to make. As a result, they would stay on the boat as long as possible to make the most of their workday.
After a short while, they realized passion ran through their veins. Their ancestors were also fishermen, and they realized that this passion was literally in their genes. They knew that they were destined to be fishermen. They were extremely happy doing what they did. Some people are lucky enough to work in what they like, and this was them.
Work on a physical level
At the end of their long work days, the three fisherman friends were exhausted. By the looks on their faces and the fatigue that showed in their body language, it was clear that their business was not as simple as it appeared. It was exhausting.
As it was a daily occurrence, they became accustomed to a few injuries here and there. There were a lot of bruises, scratches, and bumps while getting off the boat due to the rough seas. In spite of all that, they still loved their job and didn't mind the hardships. This was a physical job, with long standing hours.
One Day
The three friends began their workday by going to the waters like every other day. It seemed that Mallory was the first one on the boat on this particular day, and she began getting everything ready for their trip. Over-excited for what the open sea had in store for them, she seemed to be looking forward to it.
She was joined just a bit later by Allan and Cliff. With their help, she got ready. Despite the frigid temperatures, they could not wait to discover what awaited them beneath the waves. So they look forward to starting this beautiful day.
Making sure everything was there
Prior to heading back out to sea, the three fishermen had to complete a long checklist. Once out at sea, they could not return to their home base, so they had to make sure they had everything they would need, whether it was tools or other supplies.
The checklist was reviewed a few times each morning. In a few minutes, they would get on board themselves, start the engine, and head out to sea for yet another fishing excursion. While in the open-sea they can encounter different dangers, therefore they cannot make the mistake of forgetting something and they need to organize everything ahead of time.
Having fun at work
For these fishermen, every day was an adventure. No matter how long they'd known each other or how much time they spent together, they were always having fun! Sharing memories, jokes, and funny stories among them was an everyday occurrence. They had so much fun together. They were really a happy group of friends.
They knew it was the right time to depart just before the sun hit the horizon. Before the sun rose too high in the sky, they had to time it perfectly. It was time to go over their list one more time and make sure they had everything for their adventure.
Crabspot
On this particular freezing morning, the waters were calm. Temperature was low as always but they were used to it. So, they jumped in the boat and headed offshore to start their day. They headed toward the spot they liked for crab fishing.
As the fishermen swung around a bit, they found the perfect depth of water where the crabs would keep coming back. The crab cages needed to be thrown into the water at that point. It was mostly a waiting game, so this part wasn't particularly exciting. It was cold in the early morning, but they didn't fall asleep.
Bringing the details to a close
Another checklist had to be completed once they got back to sea. There seemed to be no end to the preparations. Now they had to get back to work. The first thing they had to do was turn off the motor and prepare for the hunt.
Fortunately, the things they had to do at this time were much less complicated and easier than the preparations they had to go through before leaving their port. Before dropping the cages into the water, the ropes had to be tied into the cages. Having to do this every day, it was something they could do quickly.
Crab season
In the end, the fisherman dropped the cages into the water until they reached the bottom of the sea, where the crabs live. At this depth, they knew there was a nest of crabs. The cages would then start dragging themselves around the floor as soon as they hit the bottom.
In spite of their amazing crab season this year, they were hoping to end the season on a high note today and catch the crab jackpot. The goal was to end the year on a high note and give each other something meaningful to celebrate! Therefore, they proceed with placing the cages.
The Amazing First Catch
Fishing cages had to be lowered to the seabed and then dragged slowly on the seafloor in order to catch crabs. The boat is slowly driven around by one fisherman. The other two fishermen are on cage duty - watching closely.
To communicate and ensure that everything was done correctly, they would shout commands at each other. There was no room for error. The cage was ready to be taken out of the water within minutes of the first drag, complete with their first catch of the day inside. Excited, they wait impatiently for the right moment to withdraw their cages.
It's a jackpot!
The first catch of the day was amazing! The first cage they pulled from the water stunned them. What a number of crabs they caught! They felt good about their day - they knew it was going to be good.
With the amazing catch, they seemed to have realized their dream of ending their season with a major crab jackpot. There were high fives all around as the friends were giddy with excitement. For a moment they had to contain their excitement as they awaited the next catch hoping that that would be as good as the first one. The amount of crabs they caught was what they were hoping for!
That's a great catch!
The fishermen had a very lucky day on this particular day. They were very excited about what they caught. They had actually caught their best fish in weeks. In addition to being able to sell more fish to local restaurants and businesses, this catch would also benefit them in many ways.
Cliff Mallory and Allan were ready to move on to the next spot when they finished collecting the crabs from their first location. In order to catch the most crabs, the fisherman decided to head out four miles from the shore. So they decided to test their luck that seemed to be hitting them that day.
Seas that are frozen
This area of the sea was seldom visited by fishermen, and they didn't know the area very well. It meant the three had to find deeper waters to drop the crab cages, which meant they had to look for a better spot to drop the cages.
The boat was being driven towards the best spot by Mallory. As she navigated the unfamiliar waters, she looked through the binoculars. No matter how familiar they were with this sea, they still had to be cautious, as they were entering a part of it that was much colder than they were accustomed to.
Nature Is Calm And Beautiful
Since they were navigating towards an unfamiliar location, they had to check their coordinates every few minutes. As they neared the destination, they realized that they would have to wait a while before they could stop. That was not to say that they would be able to stop immediately. Icebergs had to be watched carefully. It was dangerous.
These were uncharted waters for them. Birds began flying above them, icebergs appeared, and seals lay on top of the ice. The atmosphere was calm and peaceful. This was a new experience for them. The nature was leaving them astonished. They felt in paradise.
Icebergs of immense size
As one of the coldest bodies of water, the Labrador Sea is filled with gigantic icebergs that are dangerous for sailors and fishermen. Keeping an eye out for icebergs was of utmost importance to the fishing crew to avoid disaster.
The fisherman could end up in a total disaster if he made a mistake among the icebergs. Observation was necessary. However, they knew what they were doing. Fisherman one would steer the boat, while fisherman two would keep an eye on the surroundings. As we all know from Titanic, they had to avoid ending up in a similar tragedy.
It's a long way away
Suddenly, Allan noticed something in the distance as the fishermen cautiously maneuvered around the icebergs. Other fishermen started wondering what it could be when he pointed it out to them. But none of them could figure it out. They were too far away to see properly at naked-eye, all they could see was a spot.
All of them noticed something there, thinking maybe an animal was sitting on an iceberg. As they approached, they could see what it was. After watching the figure move for a while, they assumed it must be a seal that had escaped its herd and wanted some alone time.
The Sun and an Animal
Having seen different animals basking in the sun on top of icebergs before, the fishermen decided to keep going. They seemed unconcerned because it was a typical behavior for seals.
On their last trip, they saw many seals coming out of the water to eat or relax in the sun as they headed out this deep in the water. Allan assumed the creature that he saw on top of the iceberg in the distance was just a little seal based on this knowledge. On their boat rides, they always saw wildlife, so they assumed this would be no different, just a seal.
Almost there
Seeing a little speck on the iceberg in the distance, they concluded that it was a seal. They agreed on this because they had seen plenty of seals on icebergs in the past soaking up the sun.
This assumption, however, did not feel right to Allan. While looking at the distant dot, he couldn't take his eyes off it. His gaze was fixed on it the entire time. He took out his binoculars to get a better look at it. The seal appeared to be moving differently than it normally would. There was no explanation for it. That was strange.
Strange Creature
Eventually, Allan had to explain to his friends that he was thinking it was not a seal. He was almost certain that it was something else. His feelings wouldn't go away. He tracked the animal, and the movements it made were not consistent with those of a seal.
The other two fishermen decided to take a look themselves. To get a better view of the creature, they looked through the binoculars. They also thought it was not a seal, according to them. But it remained a mystery, no one had any idea what it was. If it wasn’t a seal what could it be?
A Strange Animal
It was time to go back to work for the fishermen. It was difficult for them to stop watching this animal even though they couldn't watch it all day. They were still in a state of mystery, and they were dying to figure out exactly what it was.
This animal confused them so much that they couldn't figure out what it was. Additionally, they wondered: how in the world did this animal get onto an iceberg in the middle of the ocean? This was common behavior for seals, which is why they thought it was a seal, but knowing now that it wasn't one, the situation didn't make any sense.
A Sea of Ice
The iceberg was still quite far away, but they were getting closer and closer. Despite their binoculars, they were unable to see the animal, so they decided to get closer so they could assess the situation properly.
Over the sea, chunks of ice floated. They traveled slowly to the iceberg in order to avoid floating ice and other debris in the sea.
When they hit these chunks of ice, they could do significant damage to their boat, and they also had to deal with dropping temperatures and growing winds. It was a hard mission especially in these extreme conditions.
The Iceberg is Approaching
As they approached the iceberg, the temperature began to drop. In addition, the winds began to pick up. Although they were freezing, the fishermen knew they had to get to the animal quickly since they knew that if they were cold, whatever animal was out there would be as well. The animals began to get closer, and they were able to observe them closely. They were soaked and covered in fur.
They knew the animal needed help right away. The animal must have been frozen. This animal was completely stranded in the middle of the ocean on top of the iceberg, and they did not know how it got there.
The Iceberg is Near
On top of the iceberg, Allan could see the animal pacing back and forth. After getting a closer look at the animal, they realized they were right. The animal did not appear to be a seal. A seal could not move in such a way.
Now that they had made it this far, they knew they needed to get to the iceberg. The two of them wanted to actually go to the place, not just stare at it from afar. The fishermen adjusted their route to get closer to the iceberg, maintaining safety procedures so as not to hit any floating ice.
Curiosity to the extreme
The explorers were eager to reach the iceberg so they could see what was on top of it. How did it get there, they wondered? The weather was getting worse, and the temperature was dropping by the minute.
They were unsure of what to do at this point. The men were really attached to this animal, but they also knew that they had to return to fishing. They had to support themselves. However, they decided to care for the animals first. Since this animal was in danger, they decided to take care of him first. After all its life matters too.
A long way out at sea
Neither of them had ever been this far out into the sea, nor did they know anything about this region. As well as not knowing how it would work, it was impossible for them to travel against the current. They decided to let the water carry them to the iceberg by itself. The water eventually carried them there.
Slowly, they approached the iceberg due to the current. They were fortunate to avoid all of the huge chunks of ice floating in the water, and their boat was not damaged. They knew that if their ship got damaged, they would have to jump into the water, and that was something they wanted to avoid.
Move cautiously
While aboard the boat, the fishermen knew they could not make any big moves. Captain Mallory warned them to take caution. The boats would weigh much more in this condition because of the big movements. Accidental falls into the sea could lead to their death.
It was extremely slippery on the boat's floors. A sudden movement could have resulted in them falling overboard or getting injured. Despite the fact that this was a scary situation, the friends didn't think about it and didn’t exitated. They just wanted to get to the iceberg and see what the special creature they spotted.
Danger lurking in the shadows
As a skilled sailor, Mallory had to drive extra carefully to avoid hitting floating icebergs and chunks of ice. A strong wind was blowing. There was a lot of movement in the boat. Her task was to direct the vessel in the right direction towards the iceberg. Which was a dangerous move.
Conditions were becoming worse for both the fisherman and the animal. As the waves picked up, the iceberg began to move. This was not good news. Both the boat and the animal were in danger. There was no time to waste. They were acting with perseverance. Fools rush in where angels fear to tread.
Almost there
The fishermen were under a lot of stress. The weather was getting worse outside, and they were afraid the animal would panic and jump into the water. The animal could also accidentally fall into the boat. It was too scary to contemplate either scenario. It was stressful for them.
As they approached the iceberg, they became even more cautious. To figure out what kind of animal this was, they had to navigate the situation and get close enough to the iceberg. This was an undertaking that was putting their lives at risk, but that was not stopping them from pursuing it.
Acting Quickly
As they drew closer, they began asking more questions. As they were getting closer to the iceberg, they realized that they had no idea what to do when they got there. In addition, they had to figure out how to get home, which in itself was a challenge, since they didn't know where they were. But they decided to keep going.
There were parts of the sea where the ice had gotten really thick. There was a sign that they couldn't linger there for long. They also had to get home before dark and take advantage of the daylight.
No Time
This mysterious animal was found in an iceberg that was moving very fast. Following the iceberg was the best option for the fishermen. Having patience, a quality needed for their job, they knew they would be able to reach it.
As Mallory drove the boat, she adjusted the sails so that they could catch up to the iceberg. Finally, she was able to see the animal up close. They seemed to have finally solved this mystery, and it was so much wilder than they could have ever imagined. So what was the mysterious creature? What was it doing there?
An animal that is cold and wet
An animal with four legs resembling a dog was found by the team. They knew, of course, that it could not be a dog when that thought ran through their minds. No way a dog could have ended up there. Getting closer was the only option. It was so intriguing. A four-legged dog-like creature stared directly at them.
Wet and shivering, the sad, lonely, cold animal shivered. The cold winds and water had clearly frozen the animal. The fishermen were so worried about the well-being of this animal, but now that they were closer, they realized what they had found.
An Arctic Fox
Their eyes literally could not believe what they saw. On this iceberg, there was a small animal that was absolutely freezing: an arctic fox. It was finally solved, but it doesn't explain everything. They identified what kind of animal it was. Despite being completely terrified, the white fox was drifting even farther out to sea. Choosing the best approach to the iceberg was now their responsibility.
The seagulls were waiting anxiously for something to happen around the fox. If the fisherman had not rescued the animal, he would have certainly died in those conditions. They had to do something.
Pressured
Acting quickly was their only option. They had to get to work right away. The fox could not be left alone on the iceberg to deal with his surroundings and frightening situation. Time was running out, daylight was disappearing rapidly, and they had to find a solution.
The closer they got, the more scared the fox seemed to be. The fox had probably never seen a human before, and the fox probably regarded humans as dangerous. The animal had to somehow trust them and realize that its life was about to be saved. But leaving the fox there would have condemn it to a sad future.
It's a Reluctant Fox
It was a difficult situation for the friends. Despite their best efforts, the fox refused to approach them. Even reaching out their hands to the fox to signal it to come to them, they managed to calmly talk to the fox and call it. Winds were picking up fast, and the boat was no longer able to keep a safe distance from the iceberg.
Despite their best efforts, the fox remained terrified. As they waited for the fox to appear, they felt that it would be impossible. With the boat becoming almost impossible to steer as well, this was creating quite a sticky situation.
There was no improvement
It took everything they had to get the fox on board their boat. However, they had no luck. The fox was refusing to come near them and even tried to run away, but soon realized that there was nowhere to run. On top of that iceberg, the fox knew it was in danger.
Seeing them right in the eyes, the fox shivered. Their actions had to be quick. It was impossible to leave now that they had come so far and done so much to try to save this animal. It was too much for them to leave now.
Awaiting with patience
They knew they needed a plan. The fishermen decided they had to gain the trust of the fox. The fox could not get on board the boat in any other way. No matter what they tried, they couldn't catch it. They even tried to lure it with food, but it wouldn't budge.
Both they and the fox were feeling frustrated. Having exhausted all of their options, they felt they had no choice but to bring the fox aboard. The fox would never feel comfortable coming to them again if they continued to frustrate him. It was time to be patient from now on.
But Then
Fishing was a challenge for the fishermen. For so long, they had been trying so hard to get the fox aboard the boat, but it seemed like nothing was going to work. Then something unexpected happened.
Suddenly, the fox stopped backing up and started looking at them with less fear. The fox seemed to be deciding whether or not it should come with them.
The fox took the first crucial step after what seemed like an eternity, but was actually only a few minutes. She approached the boat closer and closer. They couldn't believe what they were seeing. Their patience and persistence had paid off!
A Slow, Steady Pace
The fox was so scared for so long that they had no idea what they had done that made him come close to them. Although they did not ask questions, the fox continued to move toward the boat. By now, it was within a few inches of them. The fox decided to try food once more, so Allan held out his hand and offered it a snack.
It was evident that the fox was tired. They could tell the fox no longer distrusted them, but it didn't want to eat the food. Taking the fox in his hands, Allan carried it right on board the boat without hesitation. It was done!
Caution Is Required
Now that the hard part was over, it was easy to relax. However, the fox remained frightened. Despite his anxiety, the fox did not want to be touched by any of the fishermen. Eventually, they attempted to dry the fox by hand. After trying to dry the fox's fur with towels, the friends tried to keep it warm, but the fox refused to be touched and continued to back away.
Because they did not want to make the fox feel threatened, they halted right in their tracks. Despite their efforts to save him, they were concerned that the fox might try to jump back into the water or even attack them. They did not want to deal with either of these outcomes.
Getting Back To The Water
Unfortunately, bad luck struck again, and the fox made his way back to the water. The fox jumped after something scared him, but they did not know what exactly happened. Trying to get back to the iceberg, the fox made his way back to it.
The fishermen were unable to jump into the freezing water to save the poor fox because the water was absolutely freezing. It was imperative that they act quickly. Luckily, the fox was extremely tired and could not swim quickly. Thus, Allan was able to reach into the water and catch the fox once again. As he brought the fox back on board, the fox sat down, defeated. He knew he wouldn't be able to reach his iceberg.
Not Strong Enough
Now that the fox was in safety, they felt relieved. To ensure the fox would not escape again, they knew they had to take action. Due to its exhaustion, the fox wasn't likely to attack or run away from them, either. Thus, the best course of action was to corner the fox.
They knew what they were doing. Before trying to approach it, they waited until the fox was calm again. Once more, the poor fox was frozen and wet. Yet they had to remember that they had saved it, it was no longer on top of the iceberg or in the water.
It's Getting Better
After some time, the fox seemed to want to cooperate. It was clear the fox wanted to find a warm place to rest. All of them were eagerly awaiting the moment when they could act and help. Also, they knew they weren't completely out of the woods, and that the fox could definitely escape again, so they had to keep an eye out.
In search of a place to relax, the fox started walking around the boat. Knowing that the fox was tired and not going to attack them, they knew it was not going to attack them. However, they still took precaution and waited just a little bit longer before approaching the fox.
Warming And Drying It
It still took someone to drive the boat to the dock after all of these crazy events. Mallory was the one who did it. To witness the amazing recovery of the boys and be there for the fox was so important to her. There had to be someone who could navigate the sea, and she was the best person for the job.
In order to keep the fox comfortable and warm, the fox's two friends made sure the fox was warm. To prevent the fox from going into shock, the first step was to dry and warm the fox. There was not much time left.
Animals in Need of Assistance
When they spotted the fox resting in a quiet place, they noticed that it had stopped moving. Even though they knew the fox had suffered greatly and would be very weak, they did not know how severe his injuries were. In an effort to keep the fox warm, they felt so sorry for the poor creature.
Neither supplies nor anything else was available to nurse the fox back to health. However, something was thought of. Their boat bottom was covered in a thick layer of sawdust as they remembered not cleaning it. As they used their heads, they realized they could turn the bed into a warm bed for the fox. Having something at the very least would benefit him.
An improvised bed
As they gathered the debris from around the boat, they started constructing the fox's makeshift bed. A plastic bin was found that they could also use to make a bed frame.
Dust was placed in the bin and moved to a location where it could get some sunlight on the boat. By using this makeshift bed, they hoped the fox would be provided with a warm shelter and its body temperature would be restored. Their options were limited, but they made do with what they had and hoped for the best. So they improvised a bed for this little fox.
Breaths that are slow
Having carefully placed him in his new bed, they carried the fox to his new home. Watching him closely until the fox relaxed, they stayed with him. Soon enough the fox didzed off. The only hope the fox had at this point was that it would survive long enough to make it back to the dock. Nobody knew what would happen next.
There was a lot of worry among the fishermen. The observation team noticed that the fox was taking very shallow breaths while observing its health.alth. It was just hoped that he was resting well and getting his strength back. The doctors knew his body would take a long time to recover after having been through so much.
TA-DAN!
It was as if the fox woke up out of nowhere. The fox looked around the boat as soon as he awoke. In the fox's eyes, it appeared that he was scared once again, and they were concerned that now that he had some energy, he might attack them.
While sitting in the bed they made for him, the fox looked directly into their eyes. The fox asked whether they should feed him again. Since they didn't know what this animal's temperament was, they had to stay safe. Mallory decided to take a chance anyway. On the boat, there was an abundance of fish and crab, so perhaps the fox would enjoy a feast.
Recovering
During the day, they caught fish and crabs to feed the fox. Unfortunately, the fox did not eat them. Mallory continued to offer food to the fox, but it refused. However, it did appear that the fox was making some progress. It was hoped that it would be able to fully recover.
As time went on, the fox looked more and more at ease around the fisherman, the boat, and his special bed. Nevertheless, Mallory was still convinced that it was hungry. There were sausages on board, so she decided to try them. She gave the fox some water and a bowl of sausages.
Strengthening
There is no doubt that the fox was interested in these sausages, even though he didn't want the feast of fish and crab.
As the fox approached the bowl, he became more animated. Then, to everyone's surprise, he began eating the sausages!
The persistence of Mallory paid off. We all watched with delight as the fox ate and regained strength. It ate every last bit of food that it was given, being very focused. Its friends could not stop watching as it ate.
It was the first time since it got on the boat that the fox had eaten! The fox was beginning to feel better.
Nearly there
Things started looking better for the fox. After eating its meal, it appeared to be feeling stronger and satisfied. However, it was still feeling shy and stayed in its bed. Thankfully, it was no longer trembling or shivering. He seemed to be getting used to the group of friends. Everyone was happy that the fox was absolutely doing better.
Every moment could change everything. They knew they shouldn't touch the fox, especially since it began to regain strength. If they scared the fox, it could jump overboard or possibly even attack them. So they kept an eye on it.
Getting To The Dock
They finally saw land after what seemed like an eternity. Preparations had to be made for the boat to be docked again. Fortunately, the fox was able to fall asleep after eating its meal. In the end, the fox was woken up by all of the noise surrounding the docking of the boat, and the sleep did not last long.
Getting the fox off of the boat without causing a disaster was their next seemingly impossible task. They began talking calmly to the fox. It was obvious that the fox would not understand them, but they thought they could communicate with calm tones of voice.
Docking
The hardest part was over. He had been reunited with his family. His boat was anchored and secured to the dock. The fox's fate now lay in their hands.
Now that they had rescued it, the fox was no longer in danger. Additionally, they noticed that it was recovering.
The fox could not go home as a pet, no matter how much they would have liked to. Foxes are wild animals and cannot be really domesticated. They don’t belong to humans. In order to keep the fox close to them and close to where their boat was moored, they brainstormed where to release it.
In the Abandoned Shack
A small dog house had been abandoned not far from the fisherman's dock. The location was far enough from crowds and the town to be quiet and free of cars and people. Yet close enough to watch the house from a distance. And there were not icebergs in the land!
In hopes of finding the dog house quickly, the fisherman began to search for the dog house they had just found. There was a fox in need of a new home, and Cliff was carrying it gently to its new destination. Despite being anxiously awaiting, the fox was still sitting in the bin.
A New Home
A dog house was found by the fishermen. The fox was left alone just a few feet from the house as it explored its new and exciting surroundings. A dog-like movement accompanied the fox's explorations. A cautious fox then emerged from the bin.
Magic seemed to be in the air. The fox went straight to the doghouse. Her eyes darted around her new friends as she sat at the entrance of the house. Taking the opportunity to save the little fox made the three fishermen so happy. A long and wonderful life was anticipated by its friends, and they had high hopes for it's recovery.
