In the circle of life, you are born and then you die. In-between, people do what they can to maintain good health in order to have the best quality of life. This is a combination of a healthy diet, fitness, and some good medical care. For celebrities who make tons of cash, obtaining the best of these is no problem. But then, they also have access to large quantities of physically dangerous substances and spend big on habits and unnecessary medical procedures that severely damage their bodies, often leading to their untimely death. It’s the flip side of celebrity life where a blessing becomes a curse. Ironically, their final moments seemed sometimes providential, too.

He smoked marijuana or ganja as Jamaicans call it, heavily as a part of his beliefs. At age 36, he died of melanoma, which spread to his brain and lungs. Marley had delayed in getting medical attention, then after the cancer was diagnosed, he refused the recommended treatment as it went against his faith.

Whitney Houston met her demise by drowning in her bathtub in 2012. It was ruled an accidental drowning, with heart disease and cocaine use as contributing factors. However, several prescription drugs like Benadryl and Xanax were found in her bloodstream, along with non-prescription ones. It has been established that she had taken cocaine before she got into the tub, and at some point, became submerged below the water, too woozy to take breaths.

Heath Ledger’s sister Katie tried to get him to stop mixing sleeping pills with his prescription drugs, as she knew the two didn’t go well together. Heath insisted he was fine, and just needed some sleep. He’d had trouble sleeping in his final months. He died of a cardiac arrest, caused by the effects of the deadly cocktail of mostly prescription drugs found in his system. Individually, it is believed to be harmless and safe, but taken in large doses, they could be lethal. Ledger’s death was one of many accidental deaths due to prescribed medication misuse.
Chris Farley - Please Don't Leave Me
Chris Farley was a brilliant comedian, but there was nothing funny about his death. He collapsed and died in his apartment after spending time there with a female escort. She thought he had simply passed out, and left. The next day, Chris’ bother had found him there on the floor where he’d collapse, dead from a cocaine and morphine overdose. This deadly combination of drugs is called speedball, which the 33-year-old Farley has used during his long cocaine addiction.

People commit suicide for all sorts of reasons. Some leave a message, others don’t. Kurt Cobain of Nirvana was one who left behind a message in 1994 to explain that he felt distressed by his life because making music was no longer as exciting as it used to be. On April 5, he shot himself in the head at home. He had a drug addiction problem and had recently checked himself out of drug treatment. He had also been suicidal for some time. His body was discovered on April 8.
Steve Irwin - I'm Dying
Steve Irwin, The Crocodile Hunter, was very enthusiastic about the wildlife; and always thrilled to share his passion with the public. He took many risks in the making of his and his family’s TV shows. And it was during one such adventure that his life ended. He’d been trailing a stingray and recording it for his little daughter Bindi’s show, when its barb suddenly impaled Irwin, fatally injuring him. He died before he could get to the hospital, and doctors said there was nothing they could have done to save him.

Jim Carrey‘s ex-girlfriend, Cathriona White left a cryptic message on her social media before taking her own life in December 2015. She was an Irish makeup artist and actress who had appearances on the short films Firefly, and Bunker 731 and on the show The Online Gamer. Cathriona was known to be prone to depression and was going through a hard time with her second break up with Jim Carrey. So she took to Twitter and wrote: 'Signing off Twitter, I hope I have been a light to my nearest and dearest'. She also left a letter to Jim that read: 'Please forgive me, I'm just not for this world'.
Amy Winehouse - I Don't Want To Die
She was only 27 years old and didn’t want to die, but die she did from alcohol poisoning. Two empty bottles of vodka were found near her bed, and a blood test showed very elevated amounts of alcohol in her blood - more than five times the limit permissible for drinking and driving. She was found by her bodyguard, already dead on her bed, after a night of drinking at home.

Elvis was known to have a dependence on several different prescription and non-prescription drugs and had some medical conditions.

The first U.S. President, George Washington, had a condition called Cynanche Trachealis, which is a severe inflammation of the structures of the upper airways. It led to his death. The person he entrusted with his burial arrangements was his personal secretary, Tobias Lear. Washington was also a farmer and became ill conducting farming-related activities in snowy, wet cold conditions. A series of bloodlettings by doctors, acceptable treatments at the time, only made it worse. Washington said his final words, then died.

Maybe he thought - due to the intense anxiety at the time and being in a confused state - that perhaps the police officer had shot him. It was a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas. Shakur was 25 years old with a still promising career ahead of him.

He was such a famous singer and actor, starring with some of the top actors of his day. It was a heart attack that took Frank Sinatra out in 1998. The last years of his life saw him suffering from poor health in relation to his breathing and heart. He died at the age of 82 with his wife by his side at the Cedar Sinai Medical Centre. The renowned crooner had left behind classic hits that still capture the hearts of many to this day.

On June 20, 2011, one of the stars of the MTV Jackass show, Ryan Dunn, was looking forward to meeting up with his best friend, Bam Margera for an enjoyable time. However, he never made it. He was 34 years old and still had good health and fitness.

The disease causes a loss of mental functions, thus affecting normal activities and relationships.

He developed kidney failure, and ended up awaiting a kidney transplant in 2002. He had a stroke a year later and died at 58. He had achieved musical greatness, had 41 albums go platinum, yet he died alone in a hospital at the end of the day.

Bob Hope’s anti-aging techniques worked very well for him over the years, for he lived to 1oo years old. He was a radio personality and actor and had done well as both. He had achieved fame and had a good fan base and a loving family around him. But the aging Bob came down with pneumonia, which is tough to beat as you get older. His last moments on earth were with his wife and family discussing among other things, his funeral arrangement preferences.

He started building his empire during the mid-20th century and it has grown exponentially since. The famous animator died of complications due to lung cancer and is sadly missed by many. Today, thousands from all over the world enjoy his work and Disneyland, of course.

It’s uncertain why he did it, but those close to James Brown said he often neglected his health. He frequently performed while ill, and never alerted anyone of his physical condition. He paid the price for his neglect with an untimely death in 2006, when his body lost the war to congestive heart failure. Rolling Stone placed him at seventh place on the list of 100 greatest artists in history. Maybe he could have lived longer.
Jimi Hendrix - I Need Help Bad, Man
Jimi Hendrix lived the rockstar life; and indeed, he died the rockstar life due to an overdose of sleeping pills. His final hours were spent with his girlfriend, Monika Dannemann. They’d talked the entire night until seven in the morning, then fell asleep. When Dannemann woke up later that morning, Jimi was unconscious. He was rushed to a nearby medical facility for treatment. This music star had helped the rock genre to make significant strides.

He had a number of different conditions, and in cases, the treatment of one caused the development of another. Washington eventually died of several different ailments. He developed so many complications and died at 83.

Patrick Swayze - I Love You
December 2007 was when Patrick Swayze first felt the symptoms of pancreatic cancer. It was a burning sensation in his stomach, caused by blocked bile ducts. He began treatment but two years later, it had spread to his liver. Swayze said he believed his years of chain smoking “had something to do with” him developing the disease. He continued to smoke with cancer. Swayze died in September 2009 with his family around him. His widow, dancer Lisa Niemi, says his last words to her were, “I love you.”
Lucille Ball - My Florida Water
Lucille Ball was rushed to Cedar-Sinai Medical Centre in mid-April 1989 with chest pains. Her diagnosis was a dissecting aortic aneurysm, for which she underwent heart surgery to receive an aorta from a 27-year-old male donor. It appeared to be successful and she was recouping in the hospital. However, on April 26, Ball awoke with a severe back pain and slipped into a coma. She’d suffered a second aortic rupture in the abdomen. She died that day at age 77. Her final words were, “My Florida water,” when asked if she needed anything.
Princess Diana
A horrible motorcar accident ended the life of Princess Diana in 1997. It happened in a Paris tunnel as the driver tried to get away from the paparazzi. The 36-year-old Princess was transported to Pitie-Salpetriere hospital in Paris for emergency treatment. However, she was pronounced dead later that day on August 31. Right after the crash occurred, it was believed that she had survived. The world was in deep grief to find out soon enough that it wasn’t so and that the Princess of Wales had expired.
